Document translation for overseas internship placements

22.06.26

Planning to study or undertake an internship abroad? It is advisable to begin preparing your documents well in advance.

Participation in international education programmes typically requires a set of translated documents.

In most cases, the following will be essential:

• a diploma with its transcript;
• a certificate of no criminal record;
• a birth certificate;
• and other documents depending on the specific requirements of the university or programme.

It is important to note that translations submitted for international use generally require notarisation. Under standard conditions, processing takes between 1 and 3 business days.

We also strongly recommend clarifying in advance whether an apostille is required. This depends on the destination country, the requirements of the educational institution, or the terms of the programme. If an apostille is necessary, document preparation timelines will increase, typically taking up to one working week.

Another important step that is often overlooked is completing the application form in English. Do not leave this until the last moment, as it can sometimes raise more questions than expected.

Our key advice is simple: do not wait for deadlines. Even if the document checklist appears final, additional requirements may arise during the process. To avoid unnecessary stress and last-minute urgency, carefully review the list of required documents several times and start preparation early.

Our team is always ready to assist with translation, notarisation, and to advise on key details to consider when preparing documents for study and internship programmes abroad.
