On the 1st of December, Tomsk Special Economic Zone hosted the launch of the first Russian plant manufacturing 4G LTE cellular base stations. This is an important milestone in Russian technology which will allow deploying cutting-edge cellular high-speed broadband data networks throughout the country.
The joint venture was founded by the global telecommunications leader - Nokia Siemens Networks, and Russian innovative leaders - Micran and Rusnano.
Lingvista Translation Agency provided simultaneous and consecutive interpretation of the plant opening ceremony which was held in Tomsk and Moscow at the same time. The event was culminated by a videoconference carried out between the two cities using the LTE equipment manufactured in Russia. The ceremony was attended by Joe Doering, NSN Head of North East Region, Herbert Merz, NSN Head of Operations, Kristina Tikhonova, General Director of NSN in Russia, Dmitry Pimkin, Managing Director of Rusnano, as well as representatives of Tomsk region authorities: Governor Victor Kress, First Deputy Governor Oksana Kozlovskaya and Tomsk Mayor Nikolay Nikolaychuk.
