Month in Review: May

30.05.25

May 2025 is a hot month in both weather and projects. This May has been truly warm — not only weather-wise (except for the last few days in Tomsk) but also in terms of the number of exciting projects.

This month, we focused primarily on written translations, yet the interpreting field also saw some notable events.

Languages of the month:
– English
– Portuguese

May highlights:

• For our regular Italian clients, we organized consecutive interpreting sessions in Izhevsk, Astana, and Kirov.
Language pair: English-Russian. Topic: heating equipment.

• We began translating a book from Russian into English with the involvement of a native English speaker.
Language pair: Russian-English. Genre: fiction.

• Translation of a children’s fairy tale from Russian into Korean (North Korean dialect).
Language pair: Russian-Korean. Genre: fiction.

• This month, we tested a new online interpreting platform (a Russian alternative to Zoom).
The system is well-suited for international meetings and supports multiple channels for simultaneous interpreting, allowing work with several language pairs simultaneously. We plan to use this tool in a live project at the end of June.

• Our head, Maria Solonina, participated as an industry representative on the state examination commission at the Research Institute of Tomsk State University.

• Translation of personal documents remains a popular service. Noteworthy language pairs for May include:
   – Portuguese-Russian
   – Danish-Russian
   – Spanish-Russian
   – German-Russian

• New addition to the list of languages for notarized translations.
For the first time this month, we performed notarization of a translation into Polish.
We found a qualified specialist in Tomsk who meets the new requirements for notarized certification.

We conclude May with optimism and look forward to a bright and successful June!
